Withdrawal cold turkey
I went off Venlafaxine 75mg cold turkey due to severe adverse effects: bleeding gum, heavy period bleeding , heart rate 135, high blood pressure, unable to pass urine and severe constipated, severe abdominal pain, almost collapsed. Actually I had it 5 weeks only.
I am in 6 weeks after last dose of Venlafaxine, now still struggling with memory loss , concentration loss and brain exhaustion. Is this normal ? Is it part of withdrawal? Is this reversible or permanent damages from Venlafaxine? Really worried because it’s kind of like dementia.
Seen by one of the top psychiatrist from London’s St Pancras Psychatric Hospital. He said these neurological damages not part of side effects or withdrawal of Venlafaxine. I was trying to explain to him that this is what I feel now and there are no other reasons could have caused me memory loss… I am 50 years old and is a senior Chemotherapy practitioner from London’s NHS hospital.
