Bryson Burks-an amazing son, gone too soon

He was given 3 antidepressants for pain due to a sports injury. After a couple of months, he was told to taper off -one pill a week. He was gone after the third week. Tapering psychiatric drugs takes time, telling this young adult to taper 3 in 3 weeks is criminal. Another life stolen due to doctor negligence.

his is the young man whose doctor said he’d be fine to stop taking medications too quickly with a suicide warning if stopped abruptly.

This young man was happy.

He had lots of friends.

He was silly.

He was goofy.

He was funny.

He was involved in everything imaginable.

He was an athlete.

He was an honor roll student.

He was in National Honor Society.

He was a teen attorney.

He started a foundation to help children with kidney disease.

He was an amazing friend.

But he was an even better son.

He was my only child.

He was taking these medications for neurological pain relief after a serious football injury.

He was never depressed.

He had normal emotions about normal things.

Of course he got mad sometimes, of course he was sad sometimes, but he was never suicidal.

He was never depressed.

He did not have a mental illness.

I want the world to see his face and know his name.

If Bryson Burks can die of suicide… So can any of you.

Some medication’s can be so dangerous if not handled properly.

Not only do each one of us need to be educated on this topic but so does the medical community.

Many of them say that this is rare incident, or a rare side effect, but it isn’t rare when it happens to your child.

I get more and more messages every day of other people who have faced the exact same tragedy.

Help me make it stop!

Please share my son’s story.

Suicide prevention awareness month is coming to an end soon. I won’t continue to make as many posts as I am right now so please help me save a life or two or maybe even yours or your child’s.
