5 weeks on -personality change

My husband got put on sertraline 7 weeks ago, bare in mind he had never been on medication before. Fast forward 5 weeks and he was a totally different man I didn’t recognise him anymore, constantly angry, bitter, negative, talk of suicide, numb no feelings. I was struggling so much my world was shattered seeing and hearing this every single day constantly in tears not knowing who he was and why he got so low and changed into someone I no longer recognise , I know they say ride them out they take a while but NO this is bad real bad. He just stopped taking them like literally just stopped I know they say wean yourself but he couldn’t do it anymore, he was worse than went he went on them, he’s been off them 5 days and he’s back to he’s happy bubbly self !! These tablets are dangerous, I have been on cetelopram and mirtazipine in the past and noway did they make me feel like that. Awful medication 😢
